Apr 16, 2018She was born in Fleming, Kentucky, and was raised and attended school in War, West Virginia. She became a longtime resident of Athens, where she reared her children. She was a happy person. She never complained or worried about her illness.She will be remembered as a bright, shining light in her family. She was of the Methodist faith, and attended Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Athens.She was preceded in death by her parents, Wade Dewy Morris and Claudine Morris; sisters, Liddie DeVore and Shirley M. Morris; and brothers, John L. Morris and Wayman D. Morris.The family legacy that she leaves will be deeply cherished by her children, Lawrence E. Morris of Arlington, Texas, Rachel Linder of Athens, Bruce Morris of Arizona, and Tyrone Morris, Bernice Odoman, and Renee Johnson, all of Athens; fourteen grandchildren; and twenty great-grandchildren.She will be sadly missed by her sisters and brothers, James M. (Olivia) Morris, Dolina Roberts, Lillian Gaines, Rev. Wayne Lee (Valerie) Morris, Damon Morris, and Christina (John) Morris; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends.The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 11, 2018, from noon until 6 p.m. at M.D. Dotson & Sons Funeral Home.Graveside services will be held Thursday, April 12, 2018, at noon at New Zion Cemetery in Etowah with Rev.
